ACR - SATELLITE 3 406™

Distress radio beacons, also known as emergency beacons, PLB, ELT or EPIRB, are tracking transmitters which aid in the detection and location of boats, aircraft, and people in distress. Strictly, they are radiobeacons that interface with worldwide offered service of Cospas-Sarsat, the international satellite system for search and rescue (SAR). When manually activated, or automatically activated upon immersion, such beacons send out a distress signal. The signals are monitored worldwide and the location of the distress is detected by non-geostationary satellites, and can be located by some combination of GPS trilateration and doppler triangulation.

The ACR SATELLITE series has quietly built a strong reputation in the commercial and recreational marine industry. This redesigned workhorse utilizes a patented, proprietary electronics package for faster, more stable 406 MHz transmissions to low-earth orbiting LEOSAR satellites.

Upgrade to GPS positioning with the optional GPS interface cable (sold separately). This connects the SATELLITE 3 406™ to your vessel's GPS receiver to continuously update and store precise position data. GPS positioning provides SAR notification typically within 2-15 minutes. The automatic Category I Sea Shelter3™ bracket is fully enclosed and is made of high density, UV-stabilized polyethylene for years of extreme abuse, while the manual Category II QuickDraw™ has a low profile and is easy to rail mount or secure on deck.

Send I'M OK messages with optional 406Link.com non-emergency messaging service. Full functional self-test including battery voltage and internal circuitry. Bright LED strobe conserves battery power without sacrificing intensity. Single, three-position switch for easy test and operation. Lanyard coiled on recessed spool for non-tangling deployment.

ACR - GlobalFix™ Pro

The GlobalFix™ PRO broadcasts a unique registered distress signal that not only tells rescuers where you are, but who you are. The internal GPS will automatically turn on and acquire your position upon activation and then utilizes a powerful 406 MHz signal to relay your distress call to orbiting satellites. As local Search and Rescue is deployed, a separate homing signal and integrated LED strobe light guide rescuers to your exact location.
